PETERSBURG, VA- The Chowan University men's golf team completed the second round of play at the Trojan Fall Classic on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks combined for a team score of 325 in the second round to contribute to a two-day total of 628. Chowan finished in second place among Division II teams in the invitational. Virginia State University took home top Division II honors with a team score of 318 in round two and combined tournament total of 624.
The Hawks finished tied for third with North Carolina Central among all five teams competing in the tournament. Savannah State finished in first with a two-day team score of 590. Virginia State's score (624) was good for second place while Hampton rounded out the scoring with a 653.
Sean Wilson led the effort for Chowan with a second round score of 74.
Billy Britton followed close behind with a 78 while
Ryan Baker carded an 85.
Rich Edwards shot an 88 on the afternoon while
Jordan Francis turned in a score of 89.
Christian Fleetwood and
Darren Peoples also competed in the tournament. Fleetwood carded a 91 while Peoples shot a 93.
Wilson earned All-Tournament Team honors for the Blue and White after tallying a two-day total of 149.
The Hawks return to action on October 26
th when they compete in the St. Andrews University Invitational.
