BLUEFIELD, VA- The Chowan University women's tennis team started out their season with a 5-0 win against Bluefield College on Saturday afternoon.  Every Hawk in the lineup earned a victory in singles and doubles competition.  Natalya Kamenshchikova and Holly Stambaugh each blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0 in singles competition.  Breanne Johnson earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Sierra Queen and Jessica De Backre defeated Caitlin Allen 6-0, 6-2.  Straffai Cleveland rounded out the sweep with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Alison Morgan.
 
In doubles competition, Kamenshchikova and Stambugh teamed up to blank their opponents 8-0, and Cleveland and Johnson notched an 8-1 victory.  The Hawks will compete again on Sunday at 11:00am against Concord University.
