Hawks Shut Out on Senior Day

Senior Pedro Aiala was honored prior to the start of Saturday's contest against Bob Jones University.
Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC- The Chowan University men's soccer team closed out the 2013 season with a 9-0 loss to the visiting Bruins of Bob Jones University on Saturday afternoon.  The Bruins improve to 10-6-1 overall and will head to the NCCAA Regional next week at Emmanuel College.  The Hawks close out the year with a 1-14 overall record. 

Lone senior Pedro Aiala was honored prior to the start of Saturday's contest as part of Senior Day recognition.
 
Matt Moore got the scoring started for the Bruins in the 18th minute of play with an unassisted breakaway goal and added a second store for Bob Jones in the 26th minute.  The Hawks held the Bruins to two goals in the first half before giving way to seven unanswered goals in the second half. 
 
Moore scored a total of four goals in the victory.  After giving the Bruins a 2-0 lead, Moore tacked on scores in the 68th and 85th minute.  Ethan Pegram tallied two goals in the win, with three different Bruin scorers accounting for three goals through the remainder of the contest. 
 
Jax Eddleman made six saves in goal for the Hawks.  Chowan was out-shot 30-9 on the afternoon.  Dale Pearson and Dashaun Smith combined for two shots on goal in the contest.
