Box Score PETERSBURG, VA - The Chowan University softball team dropped a 1-0 decision in their second game of the CIAA Spring Championships. Virginia State scored what would be the game-winning run in the top of the 4th inning and held the Hawks off the board for the remainder of the game. Chowan collected just four hits in the game. 

Chowan will now play in the loser's bracket on Friday against Johnson C. Smith University. Game time is set for 10:00am at the Petersburg Sportsplex.

Alora Lincoln picked up the loss on the mound. She pitched the complete game, gave up six hits, and struck out three. VSU's Jessica Mattia held Chowan to four hits and struck out nine Chowan batters.
