Box Score PETERSBURG, VA - With two outs and her team trailing 6-5 in the bottom of the 7th inning, Chowan's Liz Hipple stepped to the plate with what seemed a daunting task. With runners at first and second all Hipple needed to do was keep the team alive. But she decided to take the game into her own hands with a double to left field which scored two runs and gave Chowan the 7-6 win. 

In a back and forth game the team with the last at-bat would prevail. Chowan pounded out 14 hits and held the Lady Golden Bulls to six hits. Chowan took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings. JCSU answered with single runs in the 4th and 5th to knot the game at 2-2. Chowan took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the 6th but the Lady Golden Bulls answered with four runs in the top of the 7th inning to take a 6-4 lead.  That's when Hipple shined through with the game-winning double, which scored Megan Bass and Allie Kolezynski. 

Hipple ended the game 3-5 with two runs knocked in. Ward, Jordan Peay, and Kayla Brady each had two hits in the win. 

Chowan improves to 24-24 on the year after the win. They will play #3N Virginia State University at 5:00pm today at the Petersburg Sportsplex. Follow live action at www.theciaa.com
