Box Score 2 RALEIGH - The Chowan University softball team pounded out 28 hits in a nonconference doubleheader win over Shaw University today. The Hawks won with final scores of 9-1 and 11-2 to improve their overall record to 14-23 on the year. Chowan garnered 11 hits on their way to a 9-1 win. They followed that up with 17 hits in the 11-2 nightcap win. 
For Chowan in the first game, four Hawks had multiple hit games. 
Leigh Ward, 
Lacey Wildeboer, 
Liz Hipple, and 
Megan Wade each collected two hits in the win. 
Alora Lincoln pitched a five-hitter and struck out five Shaw batters in six innings of work on the mound. 
Wildeboer continued to hit well for Chowan in the second game. She finished up 3-3 while her teammates Hipple and 
Allie Kolezynski were both 3-5. Wade and 
Jordyn Peay knocked in two runs each in the win. Kolezynski also helped herself on the mound for the win. She tossed a two-hitter through 20 batters faced for her sixth win of the season. 
Shelby Pendleton threw the final inning for Chowan. 
The Hawks (14-23) will travel to Elizabeth City State on Monday for a CIAA North Division match up. The game will be played on the campus of ECSU.
