MOUNT OLIVE, NC –
Adam Smith scored his third goal of the season, but the Chowan University Men's Soccer team fell to Mount Olive College on Saturday, 2-1. The Hawks are now 0-6 on the year, while Mount Olive moves to 2-6.
Mount Olive got on the board first with a goal in the 27th minute, which was the only goal of the first period. The Hawks defense was strong after intermission, allowing only two shots on goal in the second period.
Smith scored off a pass from
Biez Neto in the 66
th minute to tie the game at one, but Mount Olive scored again in the 76
th minute to take the lead, and eventually win the contest.
Smith,
Brandon Chambers, and Josh Gross each recorded three shots for the Hawks. Chowan travels to Washington Adventist University on Tuesday, September 27
th for their next matchup. Game time is set for 4:00pm.
