CU's Tricia Gorman set a new program record 10 RBI vs. St. Aug's
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 RALEIGH, NC - The Chowan University softball team remained undefeated at the 2011 CIAA Round Up on Sunday after taking a 20-1 win over Saint Augustine's College and a 5-4 win over Winston-Salem State University. A five-run 5th inning, capped off with a three run homer by Megan Wade, helped to propel the Hawks to a one-run victory over the Lady Rams in the second game of the day. Chowan (15-10) improved to 7-1 in the CIAA after the wins and handed WSSU their first league loss of the season. They will wrap up the round up play on Monday with a 12:00pm game with Shaw University.

The Hawks pounded out 14 hits and held the Lady Falcons to two hits in a 20-1 win. Tricia Gorman was 4-4 with 10 RBI, a new single game program record for runs batted in. Gorman's 10 RBI makes her the fifth player in D2 history to knock in 10 runs in a single game. Fahren Munro and Liz Hipple both collected two hits in the win. Allie Kolezynski won the game on the mound and struck out 11 Lady Falcon batters.

Megan Wade jacked a three run homerun, her third of the round up, to tie the game at 4-4 in the 5th inning against WSSU. Lacey Wildeboer then tripled and was knocked in on a Liz Sill single to give her team the game-winning score. Wildeboer pitched four innings in the game, giving up four runs on five hits. Kolezynski threw the final three innings for the win.

Chowan will play Shaw University in a single game today at noon to round out play in the round up. They will host Shepherd University at 1:00pm Tuesday in their next outing.
