Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC – Chowan University recorded 18 service aces and forced 21 errors as they dismantled the Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs in CIAA action on Sunday, 25-7, 25-13, 25-5. Chowan moves to 16-3 overall and 10-0 in CIAA play. They have now won 12 consecutive matches and have shutout six of their last seven opponents.
Bowie State (5-15, 2-9 CIAA) had no answer for the Hawks' service game. Chowan totaled six aces in the first game and opened up an early 10-4 lead. Chowan then scored the next 12 points to go up 22-4.
Tara Thomalla recorded four aces during the run.
The Lady Bulldogs fought back in the second game, keeping it close in the beginning. BSU pulled within two at 12-10 midway through the game. Chowan responded, however, by allowing only three more points the rest of the game and won 25-13.
The final game was all Chowan, as they raced out to a 15-1 advantage.

Megan Sawyer, and Thomalla each had aces in the third game.
Monroe led the Hawks with 11 kills, three blocks, and a .625 hitting percentage. She entered the match leading the CIAA in hitting percentage.
CIAA assist leader
Callie Armistead led the Hawks with 14, while
Allison Smith added 13. As a team, the Hawks hit .333 for the match. Chowan will look to extend their winning streak on Tuesday, October 4
th, when they travel to Virginia Union University. Game time is set for 6:00pm.
