Box Score RALEIGH, NC - Shaw's Raheem Smith dropped 29 points to help propel his team to an 82-70 win over Chowan in CIAA divisional cross over action tonight. After leading by as many as seven points in the first half, the Bears used an 18-2 run over the last eight minutes of the first half to take a 35-31 lead into halftime. Shaw held the Hawks at bay for the entire second half to pick up their 10th win of the season. Chowan falls to 1-10 on the year and 0-4 in the CIAA. Shaw improves to 10-4 on the year and 3-2 in the league after tonight's game.

Chowan's Quinton McDuffie had 23 points and hauled in 8 rebounds to lead his team. Chowan shot 44% from the field tonight but struggled beyond the three point arch, hiting just 3-16 for 19%. Jerry Fairley joined McDuffie in double figures after scoring 10 points off the bench. Fairley also had seven boards to go with his 10 points.

Chowan will continue their three game road trip with a stop over at Saint Augustine's College on Monday. Tip off will be at 7:30pm on the campus of Saint Augustine's College.
