Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO - The softball team split twinbill play with Glenville State University this afternoon, dropping them to 5-15 on the year. Christie Wright picked up her second win of the season on the mound.
Chowan picked up four hits in the first game and got a solid performance from Wright on the mound. She threw a complete game, allowing five hits, one run, and striking out five batters. The Hawks got on the board in the third inning when

Alex Allen on a basehit through the right side. With the game knotted at 1-1 in the bottom of the 6th inning,
Brooke Owen led the inning off with a single. Allie Kolezynksi bunted Owen to second and Ashley Huffman took care of knocking Owen in for the game-winning run on a single up the middle.
The Hawks failed to get on the board in the second game, falling 5-0. Kolezynski and Munro each had two hits in the loss. Kolezynski picked up the loss on the mound for Chowan after starting and throwing four innings. She allowed seven hits and four earned runs while striking out two batters. Wright came in to throw behind Kolezynski and shut down Glenville State but the Hawks couldn't produce an offense to get them back in the game.
Chowan will host Livingstone College tomorrow in their first CIAA match up of the season. First pitch is set for 2:00pm tomorrow. After tomorrow, the Hawks will have played eight games in five days.
