Box Score MURFREESBORO - Shaw scored 14 points in overtime to beat Chowan on their home court 83-73 tonight in CIAA West Division play. Shaw's Raheem Smith nailed a three pointer with :06 in regulation to knot the game at 69-69 and force the eventual overtime period. The Hawks were held to four overtime points and the Bears went on to the ten point win. Lando Morrison posted 25 points in the loss. Chowan falls to 13-7 overall, 9-5 in the CIAA and 2-2 in the West Division. Shaw improves to 11-10 overall, 8-6 in the CIAA and 1-3 in the West Division. 

Shaw took a 33-28 lead into halftime but Chowan scored 41 second half points and got up on the Bears by as many as eight points in the second half. The Bears chipped away at the Hawks lead and got Smith's key three pointer with :06 to play to force the overtime period. Smith finished the game with 21 points while Rodney Callwood scored 25 points. 

Lando Morrison scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the game and Jaleel Nelson scored 19 points and nine rebounds. Nelson also had four assists and a blocked shot. 

Chowan shot 48% (23-48) from the floor in the game while Shaw hit 52% (28-54) from the field. Chowan will travel to Fayetteville State University on Monday in their next outing. Tip off is slated for 7:30pm in FSU's Capel Arena.
