Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO - The softball team fell to 3-9 after dropping a doubleheader today to Shepherd University. The Hawks lost both games with a final scores of 3-1. Shepherd held Chowan to four hits over fourteen innings this afternoon. 

Christie Wright picked up the loss on the mound for Chowan in the first game. She threw all seven innings giving up three hits and three runs. The Hawks scored their lone run in the first inning after Alex Allen drew a walk and stole second base. Allie Kolezynski laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Allen who later scored on a fielders choice by Tricia Gorman. Fahren Munro had the only hit for Chowan through seven innings. 

The Hawks continued to struggle at the plate in the second game, getting just three team hits and no player collected multiple hits. Kolezynski pitched the loss on the mound, She struck out six batters in the loss while also giving up three runs on three hits. Munro, Kaytee McLaughlin , and Ashley Huffman each collected a hit in the game. 

Chowan will host Bloomsburg University tomorrow afternoon in a 12:00pm doubleheader. The Hawks move to 3-9 on the year after today's losses.
