CHARLOTTE, NC - The CIAA announced today the 2010 Tournament seedings after a coin toss to determine the top three teams on the  men's side of the bracket. The Chowan men's basketball team picked up the #4 seed and they will tip it up with #5 Johnson C. Smith University on Thursday night at 7:00pm at Time Warner Cable Arena. 

Johnson C. Smith leads the regular season series after taking both the home and away games. Their first meeting of the season came on February 11th with Johnson C. Smith coming away with a 67-62 win in Murfreesboro. CIAA All Conference member Jaleel Nelson posted a team-high 19 points. He also had three assists and five steals. Lando Morrison , another CIAA All Team performer, posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Chowan traveled to Charlotte on February 18th where the Hawks fell 66-56. Nelson once again paced the Hawks scoring efforts with 16 points. Morrison posted 11 points and eight rebounds while Mark Brown added 14 points and five boards.
