Box Score CHARLOTTE, NC - Turnovers proved to be costly tonight for the Hawks as they dropped a CIAA West Division game at Johnson C. Smith University 66-56. The Golden Bulls used 21 points off of Hawks turnovers to help propel them to the home court victory. The Hawks are typically stingy with the ball but tonight were forced into 18 costly turnovers. Chowan shot 32% (19-59) from the floor in the game, led by
Jaleel Nelson who scored 16 points.
Mark Brown scored 14 points and
Lando Morrison had 11 points and eight rebounds.
Johnson C. Smith, the defending CIAA Champions, shot 57% from the floor in the game.
Chowan moves to 16-9 overall, 12-7 in the CIAA, and 5-4 in the division. Johnson C. Smith improves to 17-9 overall, 11-8 in the CIAA, and 5-4 in the division.
The Hawks will round out their regular season with a 7:30pm tip off with Shaw University on Saturday in Raleigh.
