The Chowan University men's basketball team upped its record to 15-8 overall and 11-6 in the CIAA by downing Livingstone College 65-59 Saturday.

Trailing 30-27 at halftime Chowan outscored the Blue Bears 38-29 in the second half, and held them to only 3 points in the last 2 minutes.  While shooting 41% from the floor the Hawks were paced by Jaleel Nelson's game high 23 points.  Three other Hawks scored in double figures.  Lando Morrison netted 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Charles Rhodes scored 12 points, and Mark Brown added 11.

Livingstone College shot only 40% from the floor, but connected on 7-23 from the three point line.  The Blue Bears, whose record fell to 10-13 overall and 7-10 in the CIAA, were led by Megail Cannon's 15 points.  Greg Henry tossed in 11 points for Livingstone.  

The Hawks will be back in action Monday night when they host CIAA opponent St. Augustine's College.
