Box Score WILSON, NC - The Chowan University men's basketball team fell in a 101-92 shoot out at Barton College this evening in non-conference basketball action. Chowan took a 46-42 lead into the halftime break but Barton exploded for 60 second half points on a 59% shooting performance to take the narrow victory over the Hawks. Chowan put four players in double figures led by Charles Rhodes with 19 points. Barton's Gerald Boston connected for 31 points in the game while teammate Jaren Haley hit 17 second half points. Chowan falls to 1-5 on the year after tonight's road loss. Barton moves to 6-3 on the year.

The highly potent game featured seven ties and seven lead changes. Statistically even in most categories, the Bulldogs only edged the Hawks on the glass tonight, getting 40 rebounds to Chowan's 29 total boards.

Charles Rhodes led Chowan's offensive attack with 19 points on a 7-14 shooting performance. Lee Branscombe came off the bench to score 17 points, hitting 3-6 from beyond the three point arch. Deandre Tyree also added 17 points. He hauled in a game-high nine rebounds. Travis Williams posted 13 points and six assists in the game.

Chowan (1-5) will host St. Andrews on Saturday in a 2:00pm tip off before taking off for the Christmas break.
