MURFREESBORO - (CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW THE GAME LIVE) First year Head Coach Dan DeRose has been waiting for November 16th since he was hired in April. In the highly anticipated match up the Hawks will open their 2010-11 season at home against Barton College tonight. Barton is coming off an injury-plauqed season in 2009-10. The Bulldogs 15th-year head coach Ron Lievense return four of five starters from a year ago. Barton got off to an 11-3 start and was 7-0 in the league 2009-10 before injuries sparked an eight-game losing streak. The Bulldogs finished 14-14 overall and 10-10 (sixth) in the league. 

Chowan is coming off a 2nd place CIAA West Division finish a year ago after wrapping up 18-9 overall and 13-7 in the league play. The Hawks lost three starters off last year's team but return Preseason All-CIAA pick Mark Brown and top three point threat, Charles Rhodes .
