ETTRICK, VA - The women's basketball team fell 80-77 in overtime to #20 Virginia State University this evening in CIAA hardcourt action. The Hawks, who had not played since last Wednesday night, put three players in double figures but couldn't stop Virginia State under the glass as they grabbed 20 offensive rebounds alone. 

The Hawks shot 52% from the floor, including 75% from beyond the three point arch. Naomi Walters paced Chowan with 14 points while Ransheeda Jennings had 12 points, four assists, and three steals. Najah Harris came in with 11 points and eight assists in the loss.

Chowan falls to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in CIAA play. They will take off until December 30th when they travel to the Apprentice School for a 6:00pm non-conference match up.
