ETTRICK, VA - The men's basketball team hit 50% from the floor and grabbed 46 team rebounds in a 76-67 win over Virginia State University on the road tonight. Chowan improves to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the CIAA after tonight's win. Both Jaleel Nelson and Mark Brown posted double digit points and rebounds in the game to help propel their team to victory. 

After trailing by nine points with just over 4:00 to play in the first half, the Hawks bounced back to take a 36-35 halftime lead. The Hawks pulled away in the second half after hitting 17-30 from the floor in the period. The Hawks drained 30-60 shots from the field over the course of the game and grabbed 46 rebounds to the Trojans 34. 

Nelson scored a team-high 18 points and had 12 rebounds while Brown posted 15 points and 10 rebounds. Lando Morrison chipped in 12 points and 9 boards while Anton Shoetan came off the bench to score 10 points. 

The Hawks will host Catawba College in their next outing after the Christmas break on December 30th. Tip off is slated for 4:00pm in the non-conference match up.
