MURFREESBORO - This men's soccer team fell 3-0 to Methodist College at home this afternoon, dropping them to 0-6 on the year. Methodist out shot Chowan 35 to 7 in the match while Chowan keeper Daniel Callahan tallied 15 saves in his first career start.
The match remained scoreless until the 37th minute when Methodist's Evan Montiero scored an unassisted goal from about 40 yards out. After taking a 1-0 lead over Chowan into the half, Methodist spread their lead to 2-0 after scoring off a corner kick in the 53rd minute. The visiting Monarchs added one more goal in the 81st minute to take a 3-0 lead and eventual win over home standing Chowan.
Callahan started in goal and in his first career start allowed 3 goals while collected 15 saves. Anthony Hernandez posted 2 shots for Chowan while five other Hawks got off single shots in the match.
