Hawks Fall to High Point after Delay

HIGH POINT, NC - With :17 to play in the first half and the home standing Panthers up 41-34 over the visiting Hawks, a severe storm knocked out power to the campus of High Point University, forcing University officials to postpone the game to tomorrow. 

The game will be played from the point it was stopped tonight, tomorrow afternoon at 12:00pm. Log on to the High Point Athletics website tomorrow to get a live play-by-play feed from the game. The Hawks currently trail High Point 41-34.

 

HIGH POINT, NC - The men's basketball team fell to High Point University this afternoon 75-59 this afternoon. High Point officials were forced to postpone last night's game after a power outage stopped the game with :17 to play in the first period. The game was picked up at that point today at 12:00noon. 

High Point took a 41-33 lead into half time and went on a 12-4 run to open the second period of play. The Hawk's battled to stay within striking distance but the Panthers pulled away for the 75-59 win. Chowan was led by Trayvon Lathan who scored a game-high 17 points while newcomer Deon Tynes netted 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Chowan falls to 1-2 while High Point moves to 3-2 overall. Chowan will host Millersville University on Saturday at 3:00pm.
