Chowan Basketball Participates In First Ever Conference Double Header

Women Lose a Close One in First Ever Chowan Dixie Conference Basketball Game

ROCKY MOUNT, NC - The Braves carved a small piece of Chowan College sports history as they participated in the first ever Chowan College Dixie Conference basketball game. The 2001-2002 sports season marked the first season Chowan was eligible for Dixie Conference regular and post-season play. The Braves lost a close match to NC Wesleyan and fell to 5-5 on the season, 0-1 in the conference. Ashley Winslow had a double-double night with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Amanda Murray scored 13 in the loss while Candice Fleming had 10 points. The Braves travel to Methodist on Saturday to take on the Monarchs in another conference game.

Men Fall in First Ever Conference Double Header


ROCKY MOUNT, NC - The Braves moved to 4-8 on the season and 0-1 in the conference after losing to NC Wesleyan 72-58 Wednesday night. Down by 18 at the half, the Braves were unable to cut away the deficit in the second half. Anthony Jones lead the Braves with 15 points and 4 steals while Bryan Christian scored 12 in the loss. Dejuan Green contributed 11 points and 5 rebounds. The Braves travel to Methodist College on Saturday to take on the Monarchs in another Dixie Conference match-up.
