MURFREESBORO - The Braves moved to 8-7 overall after handing Meredith College a 78-63 defeat in basketball action this evening. The Braves and the Angels swapped shots until the 11:00 minute mark when they took the lead and would not lose it again for the rest of the game. Off the bench scoring helped the Braves to an 11 point halftime lead, as guard Kara Jackson and forward
Shauntae Cruse each netted 8 points. The Braves would further increase their lead in the second half as six players notched double figures. Jackson would finish the game with 15 points and 5 rebounds while guard Erin Ward bucketed 13 points, dished out 8 assists, and had 4 steals on the night.

Ashley Winslow each scored 11 points. Winslow also grabbed 11 rebounds, pulling in her seventh double-double of the season. Candice Fleming and Cruse each scored 10 points. The Braves shot 44% from the floor in the game on their way to send the Angels back to Raleigh. The Braves have a two game homestand this weekend as they host DIAC team Averett and Ferrum on Saturday and Sunday. Game times are set for a 1:00pm tip-off.
