Ellen Ordnung enters her 21st year with Chowan University, and her eighth as the Assistant Men's and Women's Golf Coach.  

In the 2018-19 season, Chowan men’s golf would finish second at the CIAA Northern Division and fourth at the CIAA Championships.  Gaby Rivera-Garcia, Inecia Rolle, and L’leah Laing were named Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference on the women’s side.

During the 2017-18 campaign, Chowan finished second in the CIAA Northern Division and fourth in the CIAA Championship.  Christian Fleetwood would earn All-CIAA honors. L’leah Laing, Gaby Givera-Garcia and Chelsea Rose would earn Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference Honors.

The 2016-17 season produced much of the same for Chowan in terms of success as the Hawks Men’s team captured their second consecutive CIAA Championship title and the second trip to the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Tournament.  Jordan Francis would claim the CIAA Championship Medalist with a total of 145 and be named to the CIAA All-Tournament Team.  Francis, along with Billy Britton was named All-CIAA.

On the women’s side, Chowan would earn their first-ever Conference Carolinas All-Conference selection with Inecia Rolle earning a Third Team selection.

In the 2015-2016 season, Ordnung helped guide the men’s team to capturing the CIAA Championship title for the first time in school program history, allowing them to make an NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament appearance for the first time as well.  
 
She has served the athletic department in a variety of roles over her 14 years with the institution and will assist with outdoor field maintenance and game day operations in addition to working with the golf teams. She served as the assistant softball coach for eight seasons under Meredith Long, helping solidify a very successful program at Chowan. She assists the department with outdoor facility maintenance and with game day operations.
 
During the 2014-2015 season, Ordnung assisted in guiding the Chowan University men's golf team to program history by capturing first place honors at the CIAA Southern Division Tournament.  They also earned their second CIAA sanctioned tournament victory of the season by winning the CIAA Northern and were the CIAA Regular Season Champions.
 
Ordnung led the 2013 golf squad to a best-ever finish at the time at the CIAA Championships where the Hawks finished runner-up.  The Hawks took home first place at the Valley Pine Invitational that same season.  Under Ordnungs’ leadership, Sean Wilson received an invitation to compete at the 2013 PGA Minority Golf Championship. 
 
In 2012, Ordnung led her golf squad to a third place finish at the CIAA Championships. Senior Cliff Forbes was named to the NCAA DII Atlantic/East Regional Team where he finished 40th out of a 108 player field. Forbes also won the 2012 CIAA Individual Conference Championship Title.
 
In her first season competing in the CIAA (2010), Ordnung led a talented young golf team to a third place overall finish at the CIAA Championships.  Both Cliff Forbes and Corey Garvey were named All-CIAA performers that season.
 
Ordnung oversees all work study for the athletic department while also serving as the ground supervisor for outdoor facilities. She is an avid golfer, giving lessons and teaching golf classes at the school for the past nine years. Her family owns a local golf course, Valley Pine Country Club.
 
For over 30 years, Ordnung served as a teacher and coach for Northampton County-East High School. During her tenure she coached women’s basketball, softball, track and field, golf, and cross country. She is a native of Williamston, N.C., and resides in Conway, N.C. with her husband Bob. Together they have two sons, Mike and Danny and they are the proud grandparents to Bryant Preston Ordnung, and Presley Deane Ordnung.
