Pamela Scott will enter her 10th season as Head Cheerleading Coach at Chowan. Prior to coming to Chowan, Scott collected six years of experience as a cheerleading coach and three years as a dance coach.
Scott, a Franklin, Va. native, is currently an English II and English III Teacher & Department Chair at Hertford County High School, in Ahoskie, N.C. She received her B.A. in English from Hampton University, where she was a member of the Pirates’ cheerleading squad. She is no stranger to the CIAA, as Hampton was a member of the conference during her tenure there as a student and Scott is currently secretary of the All-CIAA Cheerleading Coaches Association.
Following her time with the Pirates, Scott cheered for a semi-professional football team in Courtland, Va.
“The Chowan University Sapphires will continue to promote school spirit and pride with the highest level of athleticism, performance, self-discipline, and respect for the university and others,” said Scott. “I encourage positive attitudes, dedication, and enthusiasm.”
Scott and her husband, Alan, reside in Murfreesboro, N.C. and has one daughter, Kenya LaShá, and one granddaughter, Ariana Elize.
