Bryan Hill enters his 14th season and third consecutive year as Head Coach of the Hawks. Hill served as the Associate Head Baseball Coach for the Hawks from 2019-2022.

Prior to his time as the Associate Head Coach, Hill served as the assistant coach from 2012-2018 and a volunteer coach during the 2010 season.  The first three seasons as assistant coach, Hill served as the pitching coach before moving over to the hitting coach in 2015.

As the hitting coach, Hill guided the Hawks to secure 13 All-Conference selections, four All-Region selections, one Conference Player of the Year, and two All-Americans.  During his brief stint as the pitching coach, the Hawks garnered five All-Conference selections.

During the 2019 season, Hill helped the Hawks to their first-ever Conference Carolinas Tournament appearance as Hill helped mold Marquise Lanier to one of the best in the conference.  Lanier would earn NCBWA All-American status, along with ABCA, NCBWA, and D2CCA First Team All-Region accolades.  The outfielder was named Conference Carolinas Player of the Year after hitting .407 with 13 doubles, 15 home runs, 44 RBI, and 11 stolen bases.

In the 2018 season, the Hawks navigated the independent schedule on their way to a 21-18-1 overall season.  Hill helped five hitters earn All-ICAA honors including four on the First Team as Harry Markotay, Trent Brosdahl, Robert Williams, and Nick Rose were selected to the First Team.

In 2017, the Hawks went 27-25 overall with a 13-3 record in the CIAA and played in the CIAA Championship Final.  Zach Cooper would be named D2CCA All-American that season.

During the 2016 season, Hill assisted the Hawks in clinching the CIAA Championship title for the first time in school program history and advancing to the NCAA DII Atlantic Regional Tournament.

Along with his collegiate coaching at Chowan, Hill coached in the Coastal Plain League from 2012-2019.  Hill started off as the Interim Head Coach for the Wilson Tobs in the second half of the 2012 season.  That experience helped him be named the Head Coach of the Edenton Steamers during the 2013 season.  Hill would manage the Steamers until 2016, then take over as the Head Coach of the Tobs for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.  In the CPL, Hill accumulated a 218-133 overall record, four Division Titles, a CPL Title and two CPL Coach of the Year selections (2013 and 2015).

Before coming back to Chowan, Hill served as the assistant coach at Jackson State CC as the pitching coach and strength and conditioning coach in 2011.

The Greenville, N.C. native donned the Chowan Blue from 2006-2009 as a two-way player.  During his career, Hill earned 19 victories (third most) with a 3.69 ERA in 267.1 innings (most) on the mound while hitting .263 in 133 at-bats.  Hill was named All-NCCAA South Region in 2006.

Hill graduated from Chowan in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.  He is married to Jacqueline Ferns Hill, Chowan graduate and soccer alumna. The couple has three daughters, Lou-Anna, Eliza Grace and Josie.
