Chowan University Athletics

Aaron Mayer enters his third season as an assistant coach.  Mayer assumed the role as the pitching coach for the Hawks during the 2023 season.

Mayer comes to Chowan after spending the past four seasons at Jefferson College as an assistant coach.  Mayer also performed field maintenance, recruiting coordinator and facilitated study hall.

Along with his duties at Jefferson, Mayer was the assistant coach of the Festus American Legion Post 253 team for six seasons.  During the 2019 season, the team advanced to the American Legion World Series after winning their regional.  Mayer took over as head coach during the 2022 season and went to the Missouri State Tournament.

The Festus, Missouri native has ties to the region as he was the assistant coach for the Wilson Tobs during the 2021 season handling the pitching staff.
