BRISTOL, TN. – The Chowan University men's soccer team used a pair of late first-half goals to secure a 2-1 conference victory over King University on Saturday afternoon.
After nearly 41 minutes of scoreless action, the Hawks broke through as Andre Camargo found the back of the net at the 41:25 mark off an assist from Tomas Alvarez. Just over a minute later, Henry Jorge-Garcia added to the Chowan lead with an unassisted goal at 42:48, sending the Hawks into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.
King cut into the lead in the 67th minute at 66:15, but the Chowan defense kept the Tornado off the board for the remainder of the match to preserve the 2-1 victory.
The win marked Chowan's third in conference play and moved the Hawks to 3-1 in Conference Carolinas action.

Camargo led the Chowan attack with four shots, including two on goal, while recording his fifth goal of the season. Clayton Verdin registered three shots with one on frame, while Fernando Hernandez added two shots.
Jorge-Garcia recorded the Hawks' second goal of the afternoon, while Robbie Deighan and Shoma Fujikawa rounded out the offensive effort with one shot apiece.
Lucas Kibrya played all 90 minutes in goal for the Hawks, recording three saves to help Chowan secure the conference victory.
