CARY, N.C. - The Chowan University baseball team took on William Peace University in a seven-inning non-conference matchup on Tuesday evening. The Hawks put together early offense, scoring two runs.

Jordan Turner started the game hot at the plate, doubling to left center to score Derrick Davis before later coming around to score on a single from Jacob Howard in the first inning. Ahmaad Goldson added an RBI single through the right side to bring Turner home again.
Goldson continued to contribute at the plate, recording another RBI single, while Nick Reiss crossed the plate for the fourth run of the game. Davis and Bryson Ponsock each scored late to round out the Hawks' scoring.
Turner finished with three runs, two RBI, and a hit, while Goldson totaled two hits and three RBI. Howard added two RBI on one hit, and Davis scored twice. Reiss recorded a run and a hit, while Aiden Stewart and Josh Tripp each contributed a hit.
Zach Williams earned the start on the mound, with Kelton Taylor, Cody Ives, Landon Tyndall, Zackary Wilson, Ethan Pukas, and Dawson Wiggins all seeing time in relief.
UP NEXT
The Hawks will travel to face North Greenville University on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 for their final road conference series of the regular season in Tigerville, S.C. The first game will be a single nine inning game on Friday at 3:30 PM, as the series will round out with game two and three on Saturday at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
