FERRUM, V.A. - The Chowan University flag football team wrapped up their inaugural season on Friday with a doubleheader at Ferrum College. The Hawks faced off against King College and then the host team, Ferrum College, in a Conference Carolinas doubleheader.

The Hawks battled in their opening game, dropping a 49-6 decision to King University. The Hawks were held scoreless until the 3rd quarter when Naveah Higdon found Zyian Heyliger from 13 yards out to get the Hawks on the board. Higdon ended the game with 85 yards passing and 47 yards rushing. Adrianna Lightfoot caught 10 passes for 44 yards. Heyliger led the Hawks defensively with 7 tackles while Higdon added 6 tackles. Maya James caught a 19 yard pass and also added 6 tackles in the game.
The Hawks dropped a 102-0 decision to Ferrum College in their nightcap game. Ferrum claimed a stake in the regular season title with the win. Lightfoot caught 13 passes for 32 yards. Heyliger led the defensive effort with 8 tackles. Kiara Arguello collected 6 tackles in the game.
