HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Chowan University men's tennis team picked up 7-0 shut out win over Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks moved to 2-2 after the match win. The Hawks swept both doubles and singles play en route to their second win of the season. 

Rain halted play in their second match of the day against Thomas More. The two teams will pick up where they left off on Monday at 1:30pm in Hilton Head. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Chowan swept doubles play behind #1 Thales Sette and Tadeo Missan's 6-1 victory. Marcel Ungerboeck and Tadeo Sanchez picked up a 6-2 win at the #2 doubles position while David De Simon and Terumasa Inoue picked up a 6-1 win at the #3 doubles position. 

Singles play was also in the Hawks favor as they swept all six matches for the 7-0 overall match win. 

Chowan's Ungerboeck picked up an easy 6-1, 6-3 match win over his OWU opponent at the #1 singles match. Sette picked up an easy  6-1, 6-0 win at the #2 match while De Simon won the #3 singles match 6-2, 6-3. Inoue beat his opponent 6-4, 6-3 at the #4 singles match while Maxsim Kahuck won his #5 singles match 6-1, 6-4. Sanchez picked up the #6 singles position win easily at 6-0, 6-0. 

UP NEXT

The Hawks will pick up with Thomas More at 1:30pm on Monday, March 9th at the Vandermeer Tennis Complex in Hilton Head. Because of scheduling rearrangements due to inclement weather, the Hawks will pick up a second match on Monday evening against Brevard. That match will be played at 6:00pm.
