MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University baseball team wrapped up its three-game series against Erskine College on Saturday evening with a doubleheader at Hawkins Field.

Game One
Nick Reiss recorded the Hawks' first hit of the game with a single through the right side, advancing Payton Clay to second. Josh Tripp added a double to right field in the third inning, moving Derrick Davis into scoring position. Jordan Turner collected a hit in the fifth with a single to right center and later advanced on a wild pitch, while Jacob Walker delivered a triple to center field in the sixth. Ethan Robinson added a pinch-hit single in the seventh to round out the Hawks' offensive efforts.
On the mound, Ahmaad Goldson tossed 6.0 innings for Chowan, with Zach Williams coming in for relief to finish the game.
Game Two
Chowan plated runs in the third, sixth, and seventh innings, including a two-run effort in the seventh. Turner got the Hawks on the board with an RBI single in the third, scoring Goldson. Goldson later drove in Josh Tripp with a single up the middle in the sixth.
In the seventh, Bryson Ponsock made a heads-up play by stealing home, while Tripp added an RBI single to right field to bring in Peyton Clay, who had stolen a base earlier in the inning. Goldson and Tripp each recorded two hits, a run, and an RBI to lead the offense. Ponsock and Clay both scored, while Davis, Turner, Durand, and Walker each contributed hits.
Matthew Lovett earned the start on the mound, pitching 3.0 innings. Pukas followed with an inning of work, while Christopher Tankersley and Kelton Taylor each added relief appearances. Marcus Byrd, Tristan Stancil, Dawson Wiggins, and Zackary Wilson also saw time on the mound to close out the contest.

The Hawks hit the road to face Averett University on Wednesday, April 1. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM in Danville, Va.
