MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University men's basketball team opened post season play at home in the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship hosting the No. 8 seed Southern Wesleyan University on Monday evening , coming away with a decisive 104-95 win.
The Hawks spread the scoring with four players scoring in double digits, led by Markell Hollis who poured in a team-high 23 points.

The Hawks took the lead early in the game and never gave it up. Getting up by as many as 19 points in the first half, Chowan hit 50% from beyond the arc (9-18) and outrebounded the Warriors 37 to 22.
The Hawks put four players in double figures with eight total players getting points in the win. Markell Hollis hit 9-16 from the floor, draining two three pointers, and going 3-3 at the foul line. The freshman scored a team--high 23 points, dished out three assists, and had three blocks to go with 8 boards.
Damien Robinson hit 8-10 from the floor for 19 points to go with 4 rebounds while Damerius Summers came in with an 18 point performance and 7 rebounds. Will Hynes continued with his hot hand, hitting for 16 points, including 2 three pointers. Eric Gordon Jr. and Joseph Lezeau II each chipped in 8 points while Israel Powell and Dapo Kruyswijk scored 6 points off the bench.
