BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Chowan University men's lacrosse team opened conference play on the road at Lees-McRae College Saturday afternoon. The Hawks struck first and closed the opening quarter with two goals. Chowan added four goals in both the third and fourth quarters, with four different Hawks finding the back of the net and five players recording points in the contest.

Seth MacKenzie led the Hawks offensively with four goals and an assist, placing five shots on goal on six total attempts. Justin Hill recorded a hat trick with three goals and one assist, firing off 10 shots, including five on goal, while picking up four ground balls.
Todd Egan contributed two goals on six shots (three on goal) and collected two ground balls. Scott Cathcart tallied one goal and two assists on four shots, two on goal, and posted a game-high seven ground balls.
In goal, Roco Smith played all 60 minutes, turning away 11 shots and adding five ground balls.
