MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University Department of Athletics is set to host the 16th annual Play4Kay Cancer Awareness basketball games on Saturday, February 14th, 2026. The Hawks will play host to Young Harris University at the Hawks Athletic Center in a men's and women's basketball doubleheader. Tip off is slated for 2:00pm on Saturday for the women, followed by a 4:00pm tip off for the men. 

ECU Health along with the Hertford-Gates Relay for Life Leadership Committee will be on hand providing resources and participating in the pre-game activities. As usual, the games will feature a ceremonial tip off, honoring all survivors, those battling cancer, and those who lost the battle. At halftime of the women's game there will be a survivors walk led by Chowan University student-athletes and community survivors. 

The CU Baseball team will be at home against Francis Marion University at Hawkins Field. The Hawks baseball team will also participate in the annual cancer awareness event. Fans that come to the games will have a chance to participate in several in-game contests for prizes along with interactive activities surrounding the games. 

Fans can help CU Athletics support the battle against cancer by simply wearing pink or your favorite color that represents a cancer close to your heart.
