MURFREESBORO, N.C. — The Chowan University men's basketball team earned a 70–58 conference victory over North Greenville University on Saturday afternoon. Two Hawks finished in double figures, while balanced scoring throughout the lineup powered the team effort. With the win, Chowan improves to 6–2 in Conference Carolinas play.

Chowan struck first, and the two teams traded baskets through the opening 10 minutes of play. North Greenville then used an 8-0 run to build a lead late in the first half, going up by as many as nine before the Hawks battled back to cut the deficit to four at the break, 35–31.
The momentum shifted quickly in the second half as Chowan reclaimed the lead just four minutes in, sparked by back-to-back buckets from Damien Robinson. The Hawks maintained the advantage, stretching it to as many as 13 points with two minutes remaining. Three clutch trips to the free-throw line helped Chowan close out a 70-58 conference victory.
Damerius Summers and Eric Gordon Jr. led the way with 14 points apiece. Gordon shot 5-11 from the field and 3-6 from three-point range while adding two assists and two steals. Summers was equally efficient, going 5-9 from the floor and pulling down seven rebounds to go with two assists and two steals. Israel Powell and Joseph Lezeau II each added nine points, with Powell contributing six rebounds, three assists, and a steal, while Lezeau chipped in four rebounds, two steals, and a block. Robinson finished with eight points, along with seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. William Hynes added seven points and three assists, and Markell Hollis had a perfect night at the line and from the field, going 1-1 and 4-4 at the stripe while also tallying three steals and two blocks.
Chowan totaled 10 points off turnovers, 36 points in the paint, and 18 points off the bench. The Hawks pulled down 31 rebounds, including 26 on the defensive end, and shot 45.5 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 77.8 percent from the free-throw line.
