MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Chowan Volleyball battled through a hard fought five-set match on Tuesday evening but ultimately came up short against the University of Mount Olive. With the setback, the Hawks move to 1-8 on the season and 0-1 in conference play, while the Trojans improve to 2-5 overall and 1-0 in the league.
Despite pushing the match to a decisive fifth set, the Hawks were unable to overcome a few miscues in crunch time.

The Hawks tallied 46 digs, 42 kills, and 38 assists over the course of the match. On the attack, Anna Holcombe led the charge with 12 kills, while Rosa Lynn Collier followed closely with 10. Setter Alexandra Liggeri orchestrated the offense with a team-high 28 assists.
Defensively, Diana Rodriguez anchored the back line with 16 digs, supported by Jadyn Brown with 11. Liggeri added six digs, while Brooke Hart chipped in five to round out the defensive effort.
