MURFREESBORO, N.C. - With the 2025 home athletic season quickly approaching, the Chowan University Athletic Department has released information pertaining to this year's home athletic events for both Chowan fans and visiting teams.
Chowan is set to open official play this weekend, August 30th, in a non-conference night football game against Elizabeth City State University. Kick off is slated for 6:00pm at Garrison Stadium in the annual BLUE OUT game. The Hawks are asking all fans wear CU BLUE and BLUE OUT Garrison Stadium. There will be contests, giveaways, and the first 500 home fans will get a CU BLUE rally towel.
To help fans navigate campus on game day, please read the following for each home fall sport venue.
FOOTBALL
Game day tickets are available 1 hour prior to kick off. There are no pre-sales. The ticket booth will remain closed until one hour prior to kick off for all home games. Prices are $11 for adults, $6 for visiting students, and 5 and under are free. GAME DAY TICKETS ARE CASH ONLY! Parking on game days is free. Limited space is available around the stadium in Camp Hall lot. Overflow game day parking is located in the Hawks Athletic and Vincent Center lots. RV parking is limited to the gravel lots by the Rose Family Tennis Courts. Tailgating is made by reservation only @ longm@chowan.edu. Pay special attention to signage on game day as normal pedestrian and car traffic is shut down in campus areas that are normally traversed daily.
THE POND CENTER & BRAVE HAWKS CLUB
The Pond Center Parking lot is reserved for Golden Hawk Level Brave Hawks Members only on game day and is reserved parking. The drive up to the Pond Center lot is reserved on game days 3 hours prior to kick off.
The walkway from Whites Crossing behind Parker and to the south of the football field will be shut down to pedestrian traffic 3 hours prior to kick off. Students are asked to walk the path above the outdoor chapel on the east end of the football stadium during this window. The Pond Center area and hospitality is reserved for those with a Brave Hawks Membership.
We only allow clear backpacks inside of the stadium. Anyone bringing a non-clear backpack into the stadium will be asked to return it to their respective vehicles. Exceptions would be for medical equipment, diaper bags, or large purses. Event staff will not hold personal belongings at any gate. Motorcycles, electric bikes, bikes, or mopeds are treated like vehicles and cannot be ridden or parked in areas that are restricted on game days.
Chowan University Students, Faculty and Staff are admitted free with valid University ID. For visiting fans, ticket prices are $11 for adults, $6 for students, and 5 and under will remain at free. No artificial noisemakers (bells, horns, etc.). Sportsmanship is expected and fans can be ejected from the event by referees or by game day staff at any time.
Concessions are available during the game.
SOCCERS
There is no charge to watch home soccer matches. The viewing area is located just east of the Hawks Athletic Center off of Union Street. There are four sets of small bleachers at the top of the hill overlooking the field but plenty of space if you want to set up your own chairs, blankets, or tents. (No artificial noise makers-bells, whistles, drums, horns, etc.) Sportsmanship is expected and fans can be ejected from the event by referees or by game day staff at any time.
VOLLEYBALL
There is no charge to watch home volleyball matches. All home matches are played in the Hawks Athletic Center off of Union Street. Entry into the matches on game day are limited to the west facing front doors (facing Union St.). Sportsmanship is expected and fans can be ejected from the event by referees or by game day staff at any time.
Concessions are available during the game.
All home events are broadcast live on the Conference Carolinas Digital Network. Fans can follow the Hawks live all season long by logging onto the athletics website and finding the GAME DAY CENTRAL tab.
