MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan baseball team came up just short in their senior day season finale at Hawkins Field, falling to the Mount Olive Trojans in Conference Carolinas action.
The Hawks honored 22 seniors on Friday afternoon, celebrating the careers of Warren Bailey, Ben Bausas, Ryan Bellamy, Alex Brown, Nick Cleghorn, Angel Diaz, Jackson Dunlap, Carson Everette, Rowan Hudson, Joshua James, Caleb Karie, Gabriel King, Kevin Miranda, Dylan Nickle, Caden Rector, Ethan Robinson, Christopher Rumaldo, Elvis Rumaldo, Geomar Santana, TyShawn Sellers, Konnor Tomczak, and Nicky Wohleking.

The Hawks were fueled by a pair of senior home runs, as James launched a solo shot to left in the fifth inning, and Rector followed with a two-run homer to the same spot. Bellamy, Christopher Rumaldo, Bailey, Robinson, Bausas, and Karie each contributed a hit in the effort.
Angel Diaz got the start on the mound for the Hawks, working 3.2 innings and taking the loss. He was followed in relief by Teray Cherry, Sellers, Tomczak, Nickle, King, and Brown.
