SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The No. 3 seed Chowan University Hawks battled No. 2 seed Belmont Abbey in the Conference Carolinas semifinals on Saturday afternoon. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Hawks came up short against the Crusaders.

The Hawks capitalized on turnovers, scoring 21 points off takeaways while adding 26 points in the paint and 12 second-chance points. The game was a back-and-forth battle, featuring nine ties and nine lead changes. Chowan's bench also made a strong impact, contributing 29 points.

Nyeisha Savage led the Hawks with another double-double, posting 14 points and 11 rebounds. Meara Carter anchored the defense with five steals and eight boards, while Yasmine Brown added 11 points, three steals, and four assists.
