MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University women's lacrosse team opened their 2025 season with a 14-6 loss to Coker University in non-conference play. The Hawks were paced by
Victoria Brown who scored three goals. Coker improved to 4-2 overall after the win while the Hawks fall to 0-1.

Coker got on the board first in the match after taking a quick 3-0 lead in the first quarter.
Blake Tutman kickstarted the Hawks offensively, scoring back-to-back goals to close out the first period and cut into the Coker lead at 3-2. Coker went on to outscore the Hawks 5-1 in the second quarter to take an 8-3 into half. Coker added another six goals in the second half to Chowan's three to win 14-6 over the home standing Hawks.
Offensively, the Hawks got off 22 team shots and 17 clears. Chowan was led by
Victoria Brown who had three goals. Tutman added two scores while
Shya Gambrell added a goal.
Cameryn Barrow notched two assists in the match. Defensively,
MarDawn Rawls had six ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Kezia Ramos had 11 saves in goal and five ground balls
