Hawks Lock Down Mount Olive with Stifling Defense in 51-42 Win

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Hawks traveled to play the Mount Olive Trojans in a Conference Carolinas matchup on Wednesday afternoon.

CU's defense held the Trojans to just 42 points. The Hawks tallied 13 points off turnovers and grabbed eight second-chance points. 

Yasmine Brown led the team in scoring with 16 points, while also contributing six rebounds, four assists, and a steal. Danea Mackey chipped in 11 points, along with four rebounds and three assists. 

Nyeisha Savage anchored the defense, pulling down 12 rebounds and blocking three shots. Meara Carter added seven rebounds, seven points, two blocks, and two steals in the match.

The Hawks will return home on Saturday, February 8th, at 2:00 PM to face Shorter University.
