MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University men's basketball team secured its fourth consecutive conference victory with an 84–73 win over Emmanuel University on Saturday evening to remain undefeated in conference play. The Hawks traded baskets with the Lions throughout the first half before pulling away after the break, to outscore Emmanuel 46–30 in the second half.
With Saturday's win, Chowan improves to 5-5 overall and an impressive 4-0 in Conference Carolinas play.

Emmanuel opened the game with five straight points before the Hawks answered with a pair of free throws from William Hynes. Chowan quickly settled in, finding its rhythm with balanced scoring throughout the half while shooting 42.9% (15-35) from the field and 62.5% (5-8) from the free-throw line. Freshman Markell Hollis made an immediate impact off the bench, finishing the half with 12 points. Joseph Lezeau II added six points in six minutes of action, going 1-1 from the line and knocking down a three, while Dapo Kruyswijk provided solid minutes, knocking down one of his two three-point attempts to finish a perfect 100% from beyond the arc and add eight points on the night.
To open the second half, Damerius Summers scored Chowan's first three field goals, accounting for six quick points to ignite the Hawks' offense. Summers finished as Chowan's leading scorer with 21 points, including 19 in the second half. He shot 9-14 from the field, a perfect 1-1 from three-point range, and 2-2 from the free-throw line, while adding five rebounds and three blocks. Hollis followed with 20 points on 9-13 shooting and a perfect 2-2 performance from the line, along with seven rebounds and three steals. Damien Robinson recorded a double-double, posting 10 points and 11 rebounds—nine on the defensive end—while also contributing two steals, a block, and an assist. Israel Powell would finish the night shooting 3-4 from the field and knocking down a three point basket for nine total points.
Chowan stayed in control late, protecting their lead with seven minutes to play.The Hawks shot 61.3% (19-31) from the field in the second half, along with 33.3% (2-6) from three-point range and 75% (6-8) from the free-throw line. Chowan outpaced Emmanuel across the stat sheet, totaling 21 points off turnovers, 50 points in the paint, 10 second-chance points, 15 fast-break points, 39 bench points, and 41 rebounds.
