MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2025-2026 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week. For the week of December 3 – December 10, Yasmine Brown of the women's basketball team and Damerius Summers of the men's basketball team, have been recognized for their standout performances over the past week of competition.

Yasmine Brown delivered a career-high performance this past week. The senior from Suffolk, Virginia scored a game-high 26 points in Chowan's matchup against Virginia State, adding 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal while shooting 100% from three-point range and 11-16 from the free-throw line to fuel the Hawks' offense. Yasmine's leadership on the court highlights her ability to be a vocal and game-changing presence, setting the tone for her team on both ends of the floor.

Across two standout performances against Barton and Catawba, Damerius Summers delivered one of the most dominant weeks of his career, showcasing a two-way impact on both offense and defense. Summers averaged 23 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2 assists, along with 2.5 blocks and 1.5 steals across the pair of contests. He opened the week with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 assists in Chowan's win over Barton, shooting 7-14 from the floor and 7-9 from the free throw line. Summers followed that by tying his season and career-high with 25 points at Catawba, adding 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal, while shooting an impressive 10-17 from the field and a perfect 4-4 at the line.
