CU Men's Soccer Receives Four All-Conference Selections and a Freshman of the Year

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas announced its 2025 Men's Soccer All-Conference honors on Friday afternoon, with the release coming in the midst of the ongoing Men's Soccer Championship. The honors were selected by the league's head coaches.

The Hawks earned four players on the All-Conference list following a strong 7-2-3 conference record in regular season play. Forward Cameron Letterlough earned First Team All-Conference recognition, while midfielder Bradley Binns was named to the Second Team. Defenders Harry Baker and Matty Doyle rounded out the honors with Third Team All-Conference selections.

Cameron Letterlough was also named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year, highlighting an outstanding debut season. Thomas Kleinpenning of Young Harris earned Offensive Player of the Year, while his head coach Dean Grey was named Coach of the Year. Ricard Marques of North Greenville received Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Letterlough was twice named Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month and garnered Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Week on October 14. He currently leads Conference Carolinas and NCAA Division II with 14 goals. His 30 points also lead the league and rank second nationally. The rookie ranks among the nation's leaders in many categories, ranking second with six game-winning goals, third with an average of 0.93 goals per game and fifth with an average of 2.0 points per game.

Kleinpenning has been solid for the Mountain Lion offense all season as he leads the league and ranks third in NCAA Division II with 11 assists and second with an average of 0.69 assists per game. His nine goals rank fourth in the league while his 29 points, rank him fifth in NCAA Division II and second in the league. His average of 1.81 points per game ranks 10th nationally and second in the conference. On the season, Kleinpenning posted three games with multiple goals and three others with at least two assists, including three helpers on October 11 against Erskine College.

Marques has been solid all year in goal for the Trailblazers as he was twice named Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week. Marques leads Conference Carolinas with 65 saves and ranks second with a goals against average of .631, which also ranks 11th in NCAA Division II. His save percentage of 0.867 leads Conference Carolinas and ranks fourth nationally. Marques owns seven shutouts this season, a mark that leads the league and ranks sixth in the country.

Grey earns coach of the year honors for the first time after leading the Mountain Lions to the Conference Carolinas Southwest Division title for the third straight year and the second seed in the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Championship. Young Harris has been ranked in each of the last seven United Soccer Coaches national rankings, reaching as high as fifth on October 7. The Mountain Lions are currently ranked 12th in the country with an overall record of 12-1-3.
