MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University volleyball team fell in three sets to Barton College on Wednesday evening. The Hawks gained momentum as the match went on, pushing the Bulldogs to a close two-point margin in the final set. With the result, Chowan moves to 5-20 overall and 4-13 in Conference Carolinas play, while Barton improves to 8-17 overall and 5-13 in league action.

Chowan totaled 54 digs, 31 kills, 31 assists, and five team blocks in the match. Anna Holcombe led the Hawks offensively with eight kills, followed closely by Gabriella Figueroa with seven. Madison Henderson added six kills and contributed two service aces, while Lyniah Lee recorded four kills of her own. Alauna Wilson-Linn, Rosa Lynn Collier, and Jy'Asha Cousins each added a pair of kills to round out the attack. Alexandra Liggeri and Brooke Hart directed the offense, tallying 15 and 12 assists respectively.
Defensively, Diana Rodriguez paced the Hawks with a team-high 16 digs, followed by Jadyn Brown and Liggeri with eight each, while Holcombe collected seven. At the net, Figueroa led the blocking effort with two solo and one assisted block, as Henderson added a solo block and three digs.
