TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Chowan University women's soccer team secured a 1-0 victory over North Greenville on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks wasted no time getting on the board, as Abigail Simon connected with Maya Schofield for the opening goal just five minutes into the match. Chowan's defense held strong for the remainder of the contest, applying consistent pressure and limiting the Trailblazers' opportunities in the final half to preserve the shutout.
With the win, the Hawks improve to 7-6-1 overall and 7-3-1 in Conference Carolinas play, while North Greenville falls to 4-9-2 overall and 4-5-2 in league action.

Maya Schofield registered the game-winning goal just 4:54 into the match, finding the back of the net off a setup from Abigail Simon. Simon finished the afternoon with two shots and the assist. Amy Cotton, Lily Harrison, Riley Donnelly, and Adriana Lightfoot each contributed a shot to round out the Hawks offensive efforts.
On the defensive end, Kylee Smith stood strong in goal, recording eight saves. Chowan's back line remained disciplined throughout, holding off a persistent North Greenville offense that tallied 17 shots. Their defensive tenacity powered the Hawks to another shutout performance.
