MURFREESBORO, N.C. –  Calling all active duty military, Armed Forces veterans, police officers, wildlife resource officers, firefighters, and EMT/Paramedics!  The Chowan Athletic Department is celebrating military members and first responders at Saturday's (October 25th) home football game versus UNC-Pembroke.  Kickoff is at 6:00pm at Garrison Stadium. The opportunity is also open to aspiring students who are Criminal Justice majors or interested in a future in the military or Armed Forces or as first responders.

Hertford County High School's JROTC will be presenting colors prior to the kick off.  All retired and active members of the Armed Forces (and attending family members) as well as all first responders (and attending family members) with a valid ID will receive free admission to the game.  

From the opening coin toss to the final whistle, retired and active duty military and first responders will take part in every aspect of Saturday's game. A special tribute will be given at halftime to honor those who lost their lives in the line of duty with the playing of Taps by local Pastor, Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Tyson. 

During halftime, Chowan will recognize those military and first responders in attendance. Chowan will also have giveaways and more during the contest.
