MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University volleyball team shined in their annual Dig Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Match, sweeping King University 3-0 on Friday evening. The Hawks gained momentum with each set, taking advantage of King's miscues to secure the straight-set victory.
With the win, Chowan improves to 5-15 overall and 4-8 in conference play, while King falls to 5-13 on the season and 3-8 in league action.

Madison Henderson led the Hawks attack with eight kills, followed by Anna Holcombe with seven, while Alauna Wilson-Linn and Rosa Lynn Collier added six apiece. Gabriella Figueroa chipped in five kills to round out the attack. Alexandra Liggeri paced the offense with a team-high 17 assists, and Brooke Hart added 10. From the service line, Jadyn Brown led the way with three aces, while Diana Rodriguez, Liggeri, and Holcombe each contributed two.
From a defensive perspective, Henderson made her presence felt at the net with five blocks. Jy'Asha Cousins, Hana Virts, Figueroa, and Wilson-Linn each added one block. Rodriguez led all players with 19 digs, while Brown collected eight, and Holcombe and Hart finished with six apiece.
